My No. 10 Animated Villain: SHREDDER

Series Appearance: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987)
Voiced by: James Avery (played as Uncle Phil from "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air")
My Favorite Quotes:
- Your hairy, little friend knows me as "Oroko Saki", but you may call me, "The Shredder."

- Tonight, I dine on turtle soup.

What better way to start off my Top 10 Animated Villains List than with one of the most iconic comic book villains, the Shredder. Mostly, I liked Shredder from that cool armor he wears; however, I put him at the bottom of the list mainly because how he whines and complains so much in the series. Sure, he has masterful ninja skills and an IQ over 300 for his technological creations, but he's mainly portray as comedy relief than an overall badass like he supposed to be. I mean, he takes orders from a talking brain a.k.a. Krang! How humiliating is that?! Also, he used to be have been accompanied by his Foot Soldiers, which I thought they were pretty cool minions to have, but for most of the episodes, he's accompanied by his two bumbling imbecials, Bebop & Rocksteady.

One episode that shows the greatest humilation of Shredder is "Cowabunga Shredhead." In the beginning, Shredder is ordered by Krang to complete the holographic machine so that it could create a hologram of Mikey in order to infiltrate the Turtles' lair (...not sure how this will accomplish anything), but thanks to Bebop who inserted the floppy disk backwards, the machine goes berserk and zaps Shredder in the forehead. This strange phenomanon caused Shredder to strongly behave and act like Michelangelo as he says outrageous catch-phrases like "I hunga for cowabunga!"

Despite my complaints, the reason why Shredder is part of my Top 10 List is because if it wasn't for his popularity from the cartoons, we wouldn't see him featured in kick-ass video games and the live-action movies. For example, in TMNT II (NES or Arcade), Shredder was the final boss, not Krang, and not only can he whoop your ass with his ninja sword, but he can also summon clones and unleash lightning that can turn the players into little turtles, an instant KO hit.

I heard you get to battle Shredder from the boss level in Nickelodeon all star brawl 2.
